After probably our longest away trip of the season we turned up at St Neots knowing this would be our toughest test so far.
At the beginning of the first half we started well with St Neots playing a high line we were getting caught off side a lot, this was frustrating as we have the speed to to out pace the defence so do not need to be off side. It was a tough game and I can remember Ollie making a good save towards the end of the first half, sorry I was engrossed in the game and cant remember much more.
It was 0-0 at half time, I felt we had been the better side in the first half but stressed to the boys that we must stay switched on for the whole game as St Neots had some good players who could punish us.
It was again quite an even half with both teams having chances, then Zack produced one of his long throws that fell to the feet of Alex who turned well and placed the ball in the corner of the net 1-0.
Then disaster struck, twice ! St Neots crossed and unfortunately we did not clear or manage to grasp the ball and it was tapped in 1-1.
Then we missed a clearance that sent St Neots through to make it 1-2.
It was a hard fought game with some strong challenges going in, then we had a free kick which Daly took and it struck the cross bar and didn't fall for us to finish.
That is twice that Daly has struck the cross bar this season so far !
I didnt feel that we deserved to lose the game but unfortunately that is how it goes sometimes.
Now onto the cup competitions !
